Nobleboro
is a small town located in the mid-coast region of Lincoln County, just one hour from Portland and minutes to the village of Damariscotta. Nobleboro was settled in 1788 and at that time was known as Walpole. It was later changed to Nobleboro, named after Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Noble, a commander during the siege and fall of the fortress of Louisburg on Cape Breton Island. The town of Nobleboro is situated around Duck Puddle Pond, Pemaquid Lake and Damariscotta Lake, and is just a short drive to the Atlantic seaboard. This makes it the perfect setting for lots of outdoor fun, especially boating and fishing, canoeing, swimming, kayaking and camping. The nearby village of Damariscotta offers wonderful seafood restaurants, gift shops and antique shops to explore, and other attractions include the Colonial Pemaquid Historical Site, Fort Pemaquid, and Chapman-Hall House, which is the oldest structure in Damariscotta, built in 1754. The Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum is located in the nearby town of Alna, and the village of Wiscasset is known for its' antique shops and arts and crafts shops. Acadia National Park and the Bar Harbor area are approximately a one-hour drive from Nobleboro.

Mid-coast Maine, east of Brunswick, has an oceanic climate with four seasons. This area has an elevation of approximately 70 feet above sea level and is surrounded by rolling farmlands, forest areas, numerous islands, peninsulas, bays and beaches. Winter temperatures generally range from 0 to 40 degrees F. and while accumulating snow remains a possibility into March and early April, warmer days generally means relatively fast melts. . Ice storms can also occur in winter and early spring. Summers along the coast are cool, with temperatures in the 60 to 80 degrees range. Nights are usually chilly along the coast, year round. Rain can occur in any month of the year, with thunderstorms most common during the spring and summer months. Crisp, sunny days and cool nights make fall one of the most pleasant times of the year along the mid-coast, a very comfortable and colorful time of the year to visit Maine.
