New-Harbor
is a charming fishing village on the Pemaquid Peninsula in Lincoln County on the central coast of Maine. All of the mid-coast and Pemaquid attractions are nearby, including tours to Monhegan Island, Easter Egg Rock and Pemaquid Point that last from one-hour to over a half-day. Special fireworks and fall color cruises are available. For other outdoor recreation, there is fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking, hiking and biking, birdwatching and golf. Or sit back and enjoy the open ocean vistas, explore rocky beaches for shells, sea glass and tide pools. And, after a day in the bracing outdoors, enjoy a delicious dinner of fresh lobster, in your choice of casual outdoor dining or in a five-star restaurant. Other things to do in the New Harbor area include visiting the local farmer's market, Rachel Carson's salt pond, exploring the Pemaquid lighthouse and historical sites of some of the first New England settlements, old cemeteries and antique shops. Ice storms can also occur in winter and early spring. Summers along the coast are cool, with temperatures in the 60 to 80 degrees range. Nights are usually chilly along the coast, year round.
