Sebec Lake Weather & Climate

Central Maine , in the area known as the Maine Highlands, enjoys four distinct seasons. The Penobscot Valley region has plenty of clear, sunny days in summer, with nights cool enough to provide a welcome relief from the warm days. Brisk, sunny days and cool nights in September prepare for what is the favorite season for many in Maine. The spectacular colors of fall draw lots of visitors to the area. Temperatures continue to cool down through October and November, with wintry weather returning around Thanksgiving. Cold weather settles in around Thanksgiving. January and February are generally the coldest months of winter. Below zero temperatures are possible, but infrequent and usually do not last for a very long period of time. Temperatures begin to increase in March, with a corresponding increase in humidity. The Bangor area receives approximately 85 inches of snow a year, most of it occurring in eight to ten measurable storms per year.
